Windows Interiors has a strong history in the Tampa Bay area and continues to serve the area for dozens of commercial projects ranging from healthcare and multi-family to museums and educational facilities.
Some landmark projects we’ve done include the Salvador Dali Museum, the University of South Florida’s Patel Center for Global Studies, Pasco County Hernando State College, and the Wesley Chapel Medical Center Hospital.
Wesley Chapel Medical Center Hospital
For the hospital’s patient and support rooms, we installed 250 manual Mecho Shades that will protect against solar light and also provide room-darkening. Thirty motorized Mecho Shades were also installed in conference and board rooms.
We tinted many windows inside the hospital, including a frost tint for privacy. The large scale additions of shading will greatly reduce the amount of heat and light admitted throughout the building, lowering the total energy output required for cooling.
In addition to the hospital, we also installed window treatments on the employee’s Wellness Center on site. We installed 125 manual Mecho Shades throughout the building, greatly reducing the glare from external light that was causing high temperatures in the fitness areas. Robins & Morton served as the general contractor for the hospital and Brasfield & Gorrie served as the contractor for the Wellness Center.
Salvador Dali Museum
The popular St. Pete art museum was in need of motorized shades for changing daylight conditions in the giant enigma that covers the first through third floors. We installed an interior back drop-shade using custom made brackets and attachments to help shade and cool the interior.
Behind the scenes of the museum in the second floor conference room and director’s office, we also installed a total of 14 motorized Mecho Shades. Our partner contractor for the project was HC Beck Limited.
University of South Florida Patel Center for Global Solutions
USF’s Patel Center houses the university’s president while also serving as a meeting ground for international students and staff. The 65,000 square-foot building was designed from auditorium to office to have plenty of organic sunlight come in. With typical high Floridian temperatures, the building was in need in multiple types of window shading.
We installed motorized shades in the auditorium and custom built motorized Mecho Shades and Radius Window Shades for the director’s office. We also installed 140 other manual shades throughout the building. Our contractor for the project was Charles Perry Construction from Gainesville.
