Solar shades will provide energy efficiency, patient comfort
MIAMI, Fla. (Sept. 22, 2016) — Window Interiors, a leading provider of commercial window treatments, has finished installing shades in patient rooms and select public areas of the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Critical Care Bed Tower in Miami.
Window Interiors installed manual solar shades in each space, which will allow patients and visitors to adjust shades to their comfort while still allowing light to filter in. The shades are also energy-efficient, keeping costs down and the space comfortable.
"Window Interiors has worked on many of the healthcare projects in Central Florida over the last 25 years and we are glad to continue tradition at the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital through our new office in South Florida,” Window Interiors President Dave Riley said. “We know these shades will help make the experience at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital more comfortable for families there.”
Window Interiors worked for the general contractor, Robins & Morton, to install the shades. Special coordination was required for the installation of window pockets and closures due to the varying ceiling heights and column placements throughout the building.
The company, with its headquarters in Altamonte Springs and offices in Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale, has worked on multiple healthcare buildings, including Nemours Children’s Hospital, the Florida Hospital for Women and Shands Cancer Center.
