Associated Builders and Contractors honors commercial window covering specialist for the tenth time
Altamonte Springs, Fla. - (October 17, 2013) – Window Interiors, an industry-leading window treatment solutions company, was named a 2013 Eagle Award Winner by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) for their work at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Lake Nona as a subcontractor for SKANSKA.
This is Window Interiors tenth time being recognized as an Eagle Award Winner for their outstanding work. ABC takes into consideration project complexity, difficulty of installation, craftsmanship, safety, uniqueness and custom materials when considering their Eagle Award winners.
Window Interiors was responsible for the implementation and installation of manual solar roller shades in the Nemours Children’s Clinic and hospital offices, as well as motorized solar and blackout roller shades in all 95 patient rooms and conference rooms of the 630,000-square-foot hospital. The shade fabric for each room was selected for its energy-efficient qualities that help reduce heat and glare into the rooms, which assisted in the effort of the building achieving its LEED Gold-certification. In addition, there are solar activated shades in the family waiting areas on the second through fifth floors to maintain a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere for hospital guests during their visit.
“We were very pleased with how the finished results came together for Nemours, and it feels great being recognized for our work,” said Kelly Garcia, Senior Project Manager at Window Interiors. “We simply wanted to provide the best option for the hospital and give the patients and their guests comfort and convenience.”
Nemours Children’s Hospital is an internationally recognized children’s medical facility that provides access to specialized pediatric care previously unavailable to patients in the southeastern U.S. region. The project sought out the Window Interiors to provide comfort and convenience for both patients and guests.
